INTRODUCTION

Welcome to FireWord. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the FireWord mobile application ("the App"), website ("the Site"), and all related services (collectively "the Service") operated by FireWord ("we," "our," or "us"), based in Stockholm, Sweden.

By downloading, installing, or using FireWord, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

Please also read our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

1. ELIGIBILITY AND ACCOUNT

1.1 Age Requirements

You must be at least 13 years old to use FireWord. If you are between 13 and 17 years old, you must have your parent or legal guardian's permission to use the Service and agree to these Terms.

1.2 Account Creation

You may use FireWord without creating an account. If you choose to create an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and truthful information
• Keep your login credentials secure and confidential
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account at support@fireword.app
• Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

1.3 One Account Per Person

Each account is for personal use only. You may not create multiple accounts or share your account with others.

1.4 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or abuse the Service. You may delete your account at any time by contacting support@fireword.app.

2. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE

2.1 What FireWord Provides

FireWord is a daily devotional application designed to help Christians build a consistent morning spiritual practice. The Service includes:

• Daily AI-generated Pentecostal devotional content including Bible stories, reflections, prayers, and declarations
• AI-generated voice audio narration of devotionals using three distinct voice pastor personas
• Optional morning alarm feature that opens the App at your chosen time
• Optional phone lock feature that temporarily restricts access to selected apps until your daily devotional is complete
• Streak tracking to monitor your consistency
• Read-along text for Scripture, reflection, prayer, and declarations
• Sleep mode with slower-paced evening devotionals

2.2 Content Generation

Devotional content is generated daily using artificial intelligence (Anthropic Claude). While we strive for theological accuracy and Spirit-filled content consistent with Pentecostal Christian tradition, AI-generated content may occasionally contain errors or imperfections. FireWord is not a substitute for:

• Personal Bible study
• Pastoral counseling or spiritual direction
• Church community and fellowship
• Professional mental health support

2.3 Service Availability

We aim to provide the Service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:

• Scheduled maintenance
• Technical issues beyond our control
• Third-party service outages (including Supabase, ElevenLabs, or Anthropic)
• Force majeure events

We will make reasonable efforts to restore the Service as quickly as possible in the event of an outage.

2.4 Service Changes

We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice of significant changes through the App or by email where possible.

3. SUBSCRIPTIONS AND BILLING

3.1 Free Trial

FireWord offers a 7-day free trial for new users. During the free trial you have full access to all features of the Service. The free trial begins on the date you first subscribe and ends after 7 days.

3.2 Subscription Plans

FireWord offers the following subscription plans:

• Monthly Plan: $7.99 USD per month, billed monthly
• Yearly Plan: $49.99 USD per year, billed annually (equivalent to approximately $4.17 per month)

Prices are displayed in USD. Your local currency equivalent will be shown at checkout and may vary based on exchange rates and local taxes.

3.3 Billing

Subscriptions are billed through:

• Google Play (Android devices)
• Apple App Store (iOS devices)

Payment is charged to your Google Play or Apple App Store account at confirmation of purchase. You authorize the respective platform to charge your payment method on file.

3.4 Automatic Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually) unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Renewal charges are made within 24 hours before the end of the current period at the same price as your current plan.

3.5 Price Changes

We reserve the right to change subscription prices. We will provide at least 30 days notice of any price increase through the App or by email. Price changes take effect at the start of your next billing cycle after the notice period.

3.6 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through:

• Android: Google Play → Subscriptions → FireWord → Cancel
• iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → FireWord → Cancel

Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will continue to have access to the Service until the end of the period you have paid for. We do not provide refunds for unused portions of a subscription period except where required by law.

3.7 Refunds

All subscription purchases are final and non-refundable except where required by law, at our sole discretion, or as required by Apple App Store or Google Play refund policies.

3.8 Restore Purchase

If you reinstall the App or switch devices, you can restore your subscription by tapping "Restore Purchase" in the App settings. You must be logged in to the same account used for the original purchase.

3.9 Free Features

Basic access to the App including one sample devotional may be available without a subscription at our discretion. We reserve the right to change what is available for free at any time.

4. PHONE LOCK AND ALARM FEATURES

4.1 Optional Features

The phone lock feature and morning alarm are entirely optional features. You are not required to enable them to use the devotional content.

4.2 Phone Lock Feature — Android

On Android devices, the phone lock feature uses Android's accessibility services and usage statistics permissions to temporarily overlay the FireWord devotional screen when you attempt to open a blocked app. By enabling this feature you:

• Grant FireWord the necessary Android permissions (Display Over Other Apps, Usage Access)
• Understand that these permissions are used solely to display the devotional overlay
• Acknowledge that these permissions can be revoked at any time in your device Settings
• Accept that FireWord does not monitor the content of any blocked apps

4.3 Phone Lock Feature — iOS

On iOS devices, the phone lock feature uses Apple's Screen Time API and Family Controls framework to temporarily shield selected apps. By enabling this feature you:

• Grant FireWord access to the Family Controls capability
• Understand that app shielding is handled entirely by Apple's official Screen Time system
• Acknowledge that this feature can be disabled at any time in Settings → Screen Time
• Accept that FireWord does not monitor the content of any shielded apps

4.4 Limitations of Phone Lock Feature

The phone lock feature is a spiritual discipline tool, not a foolproof technical lock. You acknowledge that:

• Determined users can bypass the lock by revoking permissions or uninstalling the App
• The feature is intended as a commitment device for your own spiritual discipline
• FireWord is not responsible for your ability or inability to access blocked apps
• Emergency calls and services are never blocked by FireWord

4.5 Morning Alarm

The morning alarm feature uses your device's notification system to deliver a daily reminder at your chosen time. We are not responsible for missed notifications due to device settings, Do Not Disturb mode, or system restrictions.

5. ACCEPTABLE USE

5.1 Permitted Use

FireWord is licensed to you for personal, non-commercial spiritual use only. You may:

• Use the App on your personal device
• Listen to devotional content for your personal spiritual enrichment
• Share screenshots or brief quotes from devotionals on social media with attribution to FireWord

5.2 Prohibited Use

You may not:

• Copy, reproduce, distribute, or republish devotional content without our written permission
• Use the Service for commercial purposes without our written permission
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the App
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the Service
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our servers or databases
• Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others
• Create derivative works based on our content without permission
• Misrepresent your identity or impersonate others
• Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
• Attempt to circumvent subscription requirements or access premium features without payment
• Share your account credentials with others

5.3 Content Standards

You agree not to submit content that is offensive, hateful, discriminatory, sexually explicit, false, misleading, or in violation of any third party's rights.

6. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

6.1 Our Content

All content provided through FireWord, including scripts, audio, voice personas (Elder James, Pastor Grace, Sister Peace), design, and branding, is owned by FireWord and protected by law.

6.2 AI-Generated Content

Devotional content generated by artificial intelligence through the Service is owned by FireWord. You may not reproduce or commercialize it without permission.

6.3 Limited License to You

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App and access its content solely for your personal spiritual use in accordance with these Terms.

6.4 Your Feedback

You grant us a perpetual license to use any feedback or suggestions you provide without compensation.

6.5 Third-Party Content

Bible verses used are from the King James Version (KJV), which is in the public domain.

7. DISCLAIMERS

7.1 Spiritual Disclaimer

FireWord is a spiritual wellness app. We make no claims that its use will guarantee specific spiritual growth or replace church community.

7.2 AI Content Disclaimer

Content is AI-generated and reviewed, but may contain imperfections. Content should be tested against your own Bible study and church teaching.

7.3 Warranty Disclaimer

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

7.4 Phone Lock Disclaimer

The phone lock is a spiritual discipline tool. We are not liable for your ability or inability to access apps on your device.

LIABILITY & INDEMNITY

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FIREWORD SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. TOTAL LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF $10 OR THE AMOUNT PAID IN THE LAST 12 MONTHS.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify FireWord from any claims arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

10. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

FireWord uses services including Supabase, ElevenLabs, Anthropic, and RevenueCat. We are not responsible for the practices of these third parties.

11. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden. DISPUTES SHALL BE RESOLVED EXCLUSIVELY IN THE COURTS OF STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN. YOU WAIVE YOUR RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT.
